Dedicó a Piranesi tres conferencias entre 1990 y 1999, siempre sobre el mismo problema —el espacio de la representación—, y trabajó en el Instituto Nacional de Calcografía de Roma, la institución que conserva las planchas de las Carceri d'invenzione.
